A strong civil society forms the essential foundation for a healthy democracy, mutual solidarity, and systemic change. That is why we are opening a new grant call under the Stronger Roots program, which aims to support crowdfunding campaigns as a tool for building strong communities of supporters.
We will support your online crowdfunding campaigns through matching grants. If you raise at least 90% of your target amount from your donors, we will double your proceeds, up to €4,000. In total, we will distribute €120,000 across the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary, with €40,000 specifically awaiting Czech organizations.
We would like to especially encourage smaller, local, or regional organizations to apply. To help them overcome a lack of opportunities, they will be given additional points during the evaluation process. Similarly, we will award additional points to projects that promote, protect, or actively communicate European Union rights and values in their daily work. However, we offer successful applicants much more than just funding. We also provide an expert educational program, which includes:
- Practical workshops for effective campaign planning.
- Individual consultations tailored to your specific project.
- Networking and sharing of best practices across the civil society sector.
How can you engage in the grant call?
💡Do you have an idea on how to engage your community and strengthen your social impact? Present it to us!
🗓️You can submit your applications via the Grantys database no later than May 20, 2026, at 13:00.
Throughout April and May, we are hosting information webinars and online consultations to answer your questions and help with your preparation.

We co-create the Stronger Roots program within an international consortium with our partners: Glopolis, Open Society Foundation Bratislava, NIOK Foundation, and Batory Foundation. The program is funded by the European Union under the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) program. We thank all involved organizations, passionate lecturers, and our partners for enabling us to cultivate and protect our civic space together in the long term.
