Stronger Roots 2026-2027
Altogether, 63 civil society organizations and 21 networks in Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland will receive financial grants amounting to more than 2.9 million euro from the Stronger Roots Program, starting in January 2026. The supported organizations and networks will strengthen their communities of supporters and deepen their collaboration with public institutions. The Stronger Roots Program is jointly implemented by Open Society Fund Prague (Czechia), Glopolis (Czechia), Open Society Foundation Bratislava (Slovakia), NIOK Foundation (Hungary) and Stefan Batory Foundation (Poland) and funded by the European Union from the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) programme.

Annotation: The goal of the project is to renovate the interior of our outdoor Scout cabin, which serves as a central meeting place for all the troops in our district. Through our own efforts and with the help of volunteers, we plan to repair the floors and provide new interior furnishings. Through a crowdfunding campaign, we will reach out to parents of members, former members of the center, and other supporters. Not only will we provide a safe venue for center-wide events, but the campaign will also help us strengthen our community, attract new donors, and raise the profile of Scouting in the region.

Annotation: The project builds on the successful revitalization of KC Sibiř, where heating installation and major technical reconstruction have been completed. The campaign aims to further improve and expand the venue for the public through equipment for film screenings, family and community events, enhancement of outdoor spaces, and visitor facilities. The project will support families with children, strengthen local community connections, increase visitor engagement, and improve the long-term sustainability of the center as an inclusive cultural space.

Project: Prague Between the Lines

Annotation: For five years PRAHO! project has been turning Prague’s public space into places to pause – over ten artistic interventions in streets, underpasses and parks. Prague Between the Lines will connect them into an interactive digital map and strengthen our donor community. At each spot the map asks a question and offers space for a personal message. Printed cards with QR codes will carry it into info centers and cafés. Donors become co-authors – recommending places, leaving messages, receiving rewards and guided walks, and joining a long-term community of supporters.
Ukrainian Initiative of South Moravia
Project: Bring the Voice of Contemporary Ukraine to Brno

Annotation: This project will open the 3rd edition of the Brno Buď Láska 2027 festival to contemporary voices from Ukraine. Through a crowdfunding campaign, we aim to raise funds to invite three music groups representing different genres (approx. 20 performers) and one visual artist directly from Ukraine. Over the course of the 5-day festival – three of which will feature evening open-air concerts on Moravské náměstí – we will reach over 2,000 visitors from both the Ukrainian community and the broader public. The campaign will also engage the Ukrainian community as co-creators of the city’s cultural life.

Annotation: MarsGate is an interactive story-based game focused on media and information literacy. Players are drawn into a fictional conspiracy case about an alleged landing on Mars, where they must distinguish facts from manipulation and false evidence. Through tasks, visual clues and narrative gameplay, players learn how disinformation spreads and how to think critically about information. The project aims to create a functional and visually engaging version of the game for workshops as well as independent play.

Annotation: An interdisciplinary project spanning the cultural and social sector which aims to contribute to improve the mental health of young people and seniors through storytelling. It consists of a series of pilot activities in several cities in South Bohemia, where local community storytelling clubs will be established. At the same time, the project aims to develop a methodology that will enable this type of activity to be established as a model in other communities across the region. Storytelling is an available healing activity that ensures human and can help prevent social pathologies.

Annotation: The Support Centre project creates a safe environment for patients with endometriosis (affecting 1 in 10 women) and their loved ones.
