Hyundai Endowment Fund
We support the development of civil society and environmental protection in the Moravian-Silesian Region.
Every year, the Hyundai Endowment Fund supports around fifteen local associations, contributory organizations or municipalities that know well the needs of local residents and have innovative ideas on how to improve life in a given place. It was established in 2007 on the basis of a groundbreaking joint declaration by Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, the Moravian-Silesian Region and non-governmental organizations from this region. The OSF Prague administers rounds of individual open grants.
The Hyundai Endowment Fund supports the development of civil society and environmental protection in the Moravian-Silesian Region, especially in the areas of the former districts of Frýdek-Místek, Nový Jičín and Karviná. The OSF Prague, which administers the rounds of individual open grants and communicates with the grantees, has to date distributed almost 25,000,000 Czech crowns!
The fund supports an active civil society, which is the cornerstone of a functioning democracy. For example, associations that want to revitalize a devastated, local park, build an interactive educational trail or recall the historical crafts and traditions of the region. One of the essential characteristics of the supported projects is the involvement of the general public – the Hyundai Endowment Fund directly encourages citizens to advocate on their own behalf for changes in their region and thus improve their lives and those of others.
