Crowdfunding and building communities. We will support organizations in the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia with 150,000 euros

In the Stronger Roots program, we will support 50 crowdfunding campaigns across the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary with nearly €150,000. The selected campaigns will receive funding, expert consultation, and mentoring.

In cooperation with partners and with the support of the European Union’s Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme (CERV), OSF Prague will support 15 Czech projects that use crowdfunding as a tool to build strong communities of supporters. With our partner organizations Nadácia otvorenej spoločnosti and NIOK Foundation, we will provide financial and expert support to 16 civil society organizations in Slovakia and another 19 in Hungary.

In the Czech Republic, the evaluation committee selected from a total of 49 submitted projects. We will support 15 organizations with a matching grant equal to the amount they raise in their crowdfunding campaign, provided they raise at least 80% of their target amount from their supporters.

Throughout the project, we will provide the supported organizations with a training program on various aspects of crowdfunding, enabling them to plan better and more effectively implement the campaigns and activities they have managed to raise funds for.

“We congratulate the supported organizations and look forward to working with them. We would also like to thank everyone who applied. We received original and necessary projects, and the selection was certainly not easy,” adds Anna Hašlarová, Stronger Roots Program Manager.

The Stronger Roots Program aims to increase the resilience of civil society organizations and their networks, strengthen their social capital, and embed them in the communities and societies in which they operate.
