The aim of the project is a quality concept of care for mother and child in which the following measures are included:
Transformation of 3 decrees that require a doctor’s indication to work as midwives.
Changing payments from health insurers to make these services available to all and to enable care providers to deliver quality care.
The development of data-driven and expert-driven recommended practices for pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care.
2. Furthermore, there is a generally accepted quality concept of midwifery that will clearly define the midwifery profession in the health care system and help its further development and a positive shift in the regulation of the midwifery profession.
3. The project activities will also aim at removing barriers at the regional level for the performance of midwives.
All these objectives will enable the existence of midwifery houses and thus the creation of centres of excellence that
will force maternity hospitals to improve the quality of care provided.
